This issue was raised at our open meeting on the 9th June. The reason then given for your lack of response was the volume of objections you were having to deal with. We trust this volume of responses will affect the outcome of your proposal. We do not accept however that volume is an adequate reason for the delay. Why did James Paice, MP receive an immediate reply? Why are we still waiting some 10 weeks on for a reply? Is this acceptable in consideration of the failure in process for the Issues and Options I and in the light of the imminent adoption of the Cambridgeshire County Council Statement of Community Involvement? Sincerely Lynne Strover

From: Atkinson David [mailto:David.Atkinson@cambridgeshire.gov.uk] Sent: 29 June 2006 09:08 To: Lynne Strover Cc: Vigor Mark; Barnes Ann Subject: RE: WWTW Dear Lynne, Thank you for the message. In respect of the acknowledgement to representations on the Issues and Options consultation I am advised that manually inputting the information received onto our database is now complete and that an acknowledgement to those who submitted representations by email is currently underway and respondents should receive email confirmation very shortly. For those who supplied a name and postal address we are currently engaged on printing the letters and these will be dispatched by mail as soon are possible within the next few days. I can advise that the issues raised in the consultation responses will be taken into account by the councils in preparing a Preferred Option Plan which will be published for further consultation in November having passed through Member processes in September. In respect of the letter of enquiry from James Paice MP I can advise there is a separate recording system for such correspondence with short response times. I apologise for the delay in acknowledging the representations but the huge volume of individual issues raised (5,814) coupled with the current limitations of our database (only one person can input at any time) has led unavoidable delays. However to try and avoid delays in acknowledging representations in future stages of the Minerals and Waste Plan I can advise that the two councils (Cambridgeshire and Peterborough) are currently procuring a bespoke interactive IT system to handle such information. It is thus expected we can provide a better service in the near future. I can further advise that we are making good progress in preparing responses to the thirty three individual requests for further information/questions posed at the public meeting and we hope to send these out next week with a copy to the Society. yours sincerely, David Atkinson Minerals and Waste Planning Manager
